Non-Destructive Testing (NDT)

Liquid Penetrant Testing is a process that uses the application of a fluorescent solution to the part and allowed to soak into any voids or fissures in the part.  After the excess solution is removed, the part is then given a light coat of developer, and is examined using an ultraviolet light source (or “blacklight”) to expose any voids or cracks in the surface of the part.

Liquid Penetrant Testing can be performed on magnetic, as well as non-magnetic materials.
